FRANK E. HILL is a veteran physician and surgeon whose father before him was a doctor and who has a son, Dr. Howard E. Hill, also practicing at Muncie, where Dr. Frank Hill has been a leader of his profession for over thirty years. Frank E. Hill was born at Felicity, Clermont County, Ohio, March 4, 1862, son of Dr. Nathan S. and Hattie (Corey) Hill. He is of early Colonial and Revolutionary ancestry. Nathan S. Hill graduated from the Ohio Medical College at Cincinnati and at once was commissioned a surgeon of the One Hundred Forty-ninth Ohio Infantry. He was with Sherman=E2=80=99s army on its march to the sea and gave loyal service to his country until the close of the war. He was mustered out at Washington in 1865 and then located at Neville, Ohio, where he carried on a successful practice until his death in 1896. Of, his five children, two sons died in infancy, and the other three are all residents of Muncie, Dr. Frank E., Mrs. Charles A. Sharp and Miss Lelia L. Frank E. Hill attended public schools at Neville, Ohio, and in 1880 entered the preparatory department of Ohio State University at Columbus. All through his summer vacations while in university he was studying medicine under the direction of his father. In 1886 he was graduated with the Bachelor of Science degree, being president of his class. His professional work was continued in Ohio Medical College at Cincinnati, from which he received the M. D. degree in 1890. Doctor Hill has had over forty years of active professional experience. For a time he was assistant to Professor Kelly in conducting the medical clinic in the Cincinnati College of Medicine and Surgery, a school that later was combined with other institutions to become the medical department of the University of Cincinnati. Doctor Hill practiced at Mount Auburn, Kentucky, until 1898, when he came to Muncie, Indiana, where he has enjoyed a very large practice. He is chairman of the medical staff of Ball Memorial Hospital at Muncie, and is a member of the Muncie Academy of Medicine, the Delaware and Blackford Counties Medical Society, the American Medical Association and the American Congress Physio-therapy Association. He is a Knight Templar Mason, member of the B. P. 0. Elks, the Chi Phi fraternity, Exchange Club, Dynamo Club, Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the First Presbyterian Church and in politics is a Republican. Doctor Hill married at Cincinnati in June, 1890, Miss Jessie G. Daughters, daughter of Oscar and Kate Daughters. She has an interested part in the church work of her community and is a member of the Eastern Star and Federation of Women's Clubs. Of the five children born to Doctor and Mrs. Hill one died in infancy and Walter in early childhood. Edith L. is the wife of Paul R. Thompson, of Muncie; Dr. Howard E. is a Muncie physician, and Robert E. Hill is a doctor of dental surgery, now attending the medical department of the University of Indiana.
