HOWARD E. HILL

HOWARD E. HILL, who has come to rank as one of the leading specialists in eye, ear, nose and throat in Eastern Indiana, is a native of Muncie, his home city, where the name Hill has been prominently identified with the medical profession for many years. Doctor Hill is a son of Dr. Frank E. and Jessie Gertrude (Daughters) Hill. His father is still carrying on his work in general practice at Muncie. Dr. Howard E. Hill grew up in that city, graduated from high school in 1918 and then entered the University of Indiana. During 1918 he was with the Officers Training Corps at Bloomington, being relieved of military duty in December, 1918. He was graduated Bachelor of Science in 1922 and took the degree Doctor of Medicine from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1924. Doctor Hill had post-graduate work in the New York Polyclinic, studied in clinics in Vienna, Austria, and Paris, and his intern work was done with the United States Naval Hospital at Washington. In June, 1924, he was commissioned a junior grade lieutenant in the United States navy, and was connected with the Naval Base Hospital at Washington until 1926, when he returned to Muncie and engaged in private practice. He has his offices in the Western Reserve Life Building and has assembled all the equipment and appliances for the work in his special field. Doctor Hill is a member of the Delaware County, Indiana State and American Medical Associations. He is affiliated with Delaware Lodge No. 46, A. F. and A. M., is a member of the Phi Chi College Fraternity, the Loyal Order of Moose, the Kiwanis Club, and is a Republican and a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He married at Detroit, Michigan, September 1, 1920, Miss Vivian Lucille Howell, of Muncie, where she attended public schools. She is a member of the Episcopal Church and is a daughter of Charles R. and Lillian R. (Austin) Howell. Doctor and Mrs. Hill have two children, Howard E., Jr. and Marjorie Lucille. Doctor Hill is a member of American Legion Post No. 19 and the Forty and Eight Society.
