Farewell dear Mother, sweet thy rest,
Weary with years and worn with pain,
Farewell, till in some happy place,
We shall behold thy face again.

Tis ours to miss thee all our years,
And tender memories of thee keep,
Thine in the Lord to rest, for so ,
He giveth his beloved sleep.

Dearest mother thou hast left us and our loss we deeply feel,
But tis God that has bereft us,
He can all our sorrows heal,

Yet again we hope to meet thee,
When the day of life is fled,
When in heaven in joy to greet thee,
Where no farwell tear is shed.
