Clay Bavender, 67, Well Known Farm Resident, Is Dead

Henry Clay Bavender, 67, R. 3, New Castle, well-known farmer, died today in the New Castle Clinic. He was a lifelong resident of Henry County. His death was unexpected.

Mr. Bavender was a member of the First Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge No. 91.

Surviving are the widow, Blanche; two daughters, Rebecca Bavender of Muncie and Gayle Bavender at home; six sons, Henry and Harold of New Castle, Fred of Hagerstown, John of Lafayette, Robert of Cresaptown, Md., and Richard at home.

Other survivors include a brother, William S. Bavender of Indianapolis; three half-sisters, Mrs. Blanche Richardson and Mrs. Katherine Sparks of California and Mrs. Esther Thompson of Michigan, and three half-brothers, Albert Chamness and Wilbur Chamness of Indianapolis and Jackson Chamness of Bellaire, Texas.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at the Main and Sons Funeral Home.
