Clipping hand dated 3/26/55 Claude Byers, 79, Dies Unexpectedly; Funeral is Monday Claude Byers, 79, died unexpectedly this morning at his home, 1703 A Ave. A lifelong resident of New Castle, Mr. Byers was a member of the First Methodist Church, the Odd Fellows Lodge and the Encampment. He formerly worked at the Chrysler factory and in recent years had done carpentry work. Survivors are a daughter, Miss Thelma Byers; a son, Frederick; a grandson, Jerry; and a brother, Gus, all of New Castle; an aunt, Miss Ella Baker of New Lisbon; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Main and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. J. Thomas Frost officiating. Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today.
