V. (Jack) Capshaw, 58, 2008 Plum St., died Sunday at the Henry County Hospital following a serious illness of three weeks.
He came from Bedford to New Castle where he was a Chrysler Corp. employe for 24 years. He was foreman of Dept. No. 36.
He was a member of the Baptist Church, F. and A.M. No.91, including Council Chapter and Commandery; also Scottish Rite of Indianapolis and the Henry County Scottish Rite Club.
He is survived by his wife, Clara; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and James E. VanMatre, and a grandson, Kurt VanMatre, all of New Castle; his mother, Mrs. J.D. Capshaw of Bedford; two brothers, William O. of Gregory, Mich., and Vestal Capshaw of Bedford; three sisters, Miss Mary Capshaw of Bedford, Mrs. Kenneth Esakson of Spencer, and Mrs. R. A. Smith of Morenci, Mich.; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Davis-Couden Funeral Home where funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday by Rev. R.E. Pavy. Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery.
Members of Masonic Lodge No. 91, F. and A.M. will meet in the Temple at 7 tonight to go in a group to the funeral home.
