Clipping hand dated 5/2/53 Drue Carter, 82, Dies in His Home Drue F. Carter, 82, died suddenly this morning at his home at 1202 S. 21st Street in New Castle. He was born in Hazel Green, Kentucky and had lived in Farmers, Kentucky before moving to New Castle in 1924. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Farmers, Kentucky, and has been employed in the lumber business most of his life. Survivors include the wife, Blanche; three daughters, Mrs. N.S. Caldwell, Mrs. Ella Mae Fort and Mrs. Margaret Hicks of New Castle; five sons, Ollie G. of Irvine, Kentucky; Hanie E. of Indianapolis, and Paul, Frank and Robert of New Castle; twenty-two grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Main and Sons funeral home with the Rev. R. Melvyn Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 o'clock tonight.
