Ray Hartgrove, 44, Dies Unexpectedly at Qualifications

Ray Hartgrove, 44, husband of Mrs. Doris Hartgrove, 815 Broad St., died unexpectedly, presumably of a heart attack Sunday afternoon while attending the 500 Mile Speedway qualifications in Indianapolis.

An employe of Chrysler Corp., he was a member of the First Friends Church, F. and A.M. No. 91, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a veteran of World War II and was active in Civil Defense work.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Steve and Jerry, both at home; two sisters, Mrs. John Pearcy of Miami, Ind., and Mrs. Wayne Robinson of Elwood; one brother, Richard Hartgrove of R. 4, New Castle.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Macer Funeral Home by Rev. Tom Mullen. Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery.

Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the funeral home where Masonic memorial services will be conducted at 8 p.m.
