Lewis Grey Hayes

Lewis Grey Hayes, eldest of five children born to John and Emma Hayes, was born August 6, 1880, in Cleves, Ohio, and departed this life April 24, 1941. Age 60 years 8 months 8 days.

He spent his early life in Cleves, Ohio. He went to New Castle, Indiana in 19311 where he was an official in the Chrysler Corporation for several years. While in New Castle he married Freda Bridges. During the 17 years of this marriage three children were born, Dale, Elizabeth and Clair Belle.

Because of ill health he left New Castle in 1933. He spent the remaining years of his life in Cincinnati where he was working as a tool maker.

He was a member of the Masonic lodge and the Eagles lodge.

Surviving are his three children, one brother, John Hayes of Anderson, one sister, Verda Hanlon of Orlando, Florida, also one step-son, Lesta Hayes of New Castle.
