Clipping hand dated 7/27/45 Charles L. Hayes Charles L. Hayes, age 80, former member of the New Castle Fire Department, died Thursday night at 10 o'clock in the Henry county hospital. Mr. Hayes had lived in New Castle for many years, residing in his home at 1618 Goodwin St. He had been a member of the fire department from 1920 until 1932. Prior to that time he worked for the former United Motor Parts Co., which was located at 19th St. and H Ave. Surviving are 1 brother, H.R. Hayes, and a brother-in-law, B.F. Dam, both of Lawrenceburg. The body was removed to the Stanley mortuary. Funeral services have not been completed but burial will be in Greendale cemetery at Lawrenceburg.
