James G. Hopkins, 68, of 1824 Walnut St., died Monday afternoon following a long illness.
Survivors include the widow Margaret; a daughter, Mrs. Don Hays; two brothers, Walter of New Richmond, Ohio, and W.F. Hopkins of Kennard; two sisters, Mrs. Alma Richardson of Georgetown, Ky., and Mrs. Mary Holliday of South Bend; five grandchildren, Ruth and Phyllis Hays and Shirley, Ronnie and Jimmy Hopkins. A son, George W. Hopkins, preceded him in death. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, where funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by Rev. George W. Hurt, the pastor; burial will be in South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call at the Smith-Davis-Couden funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
