Clipping hand dated July 3, 1949 John R. Ives Dies, Was 27 Was Conservation Officer Here John R. Ives, 27, 1126 S. Main St., who was employed by the state conservation department as conservation officer in Henry county for four years, died in a Richmond hospital Sunday morning at 10 o'clock. He had been ill for a short time. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Jean Ives; a son, Tony, age 5; his foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam P. Ives of New Castle; his father, Everett McFarland of Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Ed Steeves of Minneapolis, Minn. and Mrs. Robert Root of South Lyon, Mich. Mr. Ives was a member of the First Methodist church in New Castle. His body was taken to the Fox and Macer funeral home where friends may call after 2 o'clock this afternoon. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Dr. George D. Greer officiating. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows cemetery at Marion, Ind.
