John R. Ives, 27, 1126 S. Main St., who was employed by the state conservation department as conservation officer in Henry county for four years, died in a Richmond hospital Sunday morning at 10 o'clock. He had been ill for a short time.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Jean Ives; a son, Tony, age 5; his foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam P. Ives of New Castle; his father, Everett McFarland of Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Ed Steeves of Minneapolis, Minn. and Mrs. Robert Root of South Lyon, Mich.
Mr. Ives was a member of the First Methodist church in New Castle.
His body was taken to the Fox and Macer funeral home where friends may call after 2 o'clock this afternoon.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Dr. George D. Greer officiating. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows cemetery at Marion, Ind.
