New Castle, Ind., Dec. 4.- The local lodge of Elks today observed the annual lodge of sorrow. Although the lodge has never experienced a visit of death in its six years of existence, yet the observance was held nevertheless, in accordance with the usages and customs of the lodge. The exercises were held at the theater. The eulogy of the day was apportioned to Judge M. A. Chipman, of Anderson, Rev. I. L. Dungan pronounced the invocation, and Miss Nellie Bundy rendered a solo. The lodge is No. 484 and is among the most prosperous in the state.
