New Castle, Ind., Dec. 3.- The fourth number of the College clubıs lecture course was given Wednesday evening at the Presbyterian church. Prof. Raymond lectured on ³Paris.²
The local Elks lodge will on Sunday attend the lodge of sorrow to be held at the Aleazar theater. The lodge will attend in a body. The speaker will be Judge M. A. Chipman, of Anderson.
Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Harvey have gone to El Paso, Tex., where they will spend the winter.
W. C. Bond and Frank L. Wayman attended the Scottish Rite Masonic meeting in Indianapolis during the week.
Professor R. G. Boone, of Yonkers, N.Y., was visiting his sister, Mrs. Christina Shelley, this week.
The Haymakers gave a big ³dog stew² at their lodge room Friday evening. A number of candidates were initiated after which the stew was indulged and a fine time enjoyed.
Mrs. Emma Sloan left this week for Des Moines, Ia., where she was united in marriage to Wm. Bowman, formerly of Economy.
David Kinsey, a worldıs fair commissioner from Indiana, was in St. Louis Monday to attend the closing ceremonies of the big fair.
Henry Weber and Miss Lola Eller were married Tuesday at the residence of Samuel Eller.
Edna Pickering is at home from a five months visit in South Dakota and Iowa.
Miss Jeane Elliott has returned to Bloomington to resume studies at the state university.
Mrs. J. E. Troyer, of Indianapolis, is the guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Christopher.
The Womenıs club met Thursday with Mrs. Brown, fifteen members being present. The program consisted of papers by Mrs. Estes on ³Wanderings in the Wilderness.² Mrs. Nicholson on ³Niagra, the New Force,² and others. Miss Louise Millikan tendered several musical selections.
The Students club met Monday evening with Misses Eva and Caroline Coffin. Rev. Dungan gave a interesting talk on the ³Three Disputed Presidential Campaigns.²
Mrs. Winterbotham was hostess to the Two Oıclock club Monday afternoon.
The Unity Group spent the afternoon very pleasant with Mrs. Bent Perry, Thursday, Mrs. J. D. Wright being a guest. Mrs. Kirk will entertain the group next week.
Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Maxim are at home from an extended trip through the East.
Mrs. Joel Hummel, of Muncie, has been in the city during the week as the fortune telling queen of the Carnival of Nations in progress at the Methodist church.
Mrs. Blanch Shumack has returned to Muncie after a visit with Mrs. Howard Sims.
Young friends gave Miss Cleo McWhorter a surprise Thursday evening, it being her birthday anniversary.

Miss Edna Williams, of Mt. Summit, was the guest of Jennie Skinner over Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. F. T. Heeckman returned Tuesday evening from a visit with Dr. L. C. Stewart and wife at Indianapolis.
W. S. Vance returned to Indianapolis Thursday after spending several days here with his sister and brother.
Misses Nellie and Jennie Skinner entertained a few of the young folks Sunday afternoon for miss Edna Williamson.

Honey Creek, Ind., Dec. 3- Mr. and Mrs. Charles Downs and little son Waldo, of Elwood, and Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Kerlin and children, Pauline and Floyd, and Mr. and Mrs. Emanuel Sanders and son Herbert, and Mr. and Mrs. Loren Flemming were entertained by Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Miller.
Rev. and Mrs. B. R. Inman spent Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. John Lambert, north of Middletown.
Mesdames Lizzie Winson, Nettie Fadeley, Ethel Fadeley, and Lizzie Miller and Osa Reeding spent Wednesday at Muncie.
Mrs. J. T. Englerth and son Grover and Miss Roxia Tibbs spent a week with relatives and friends at Anderson, Alexandria and Chesterfield.
Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Sanders and Mrs. L. A. Sanders spent Wednesday at New Castle.
Mrs. B. R. Inman spent Tuesday at Daleville.
Mesdames Sandy Stanley, W. F. Sanders, Nettie Fadeley, L. A. Sanders, Lute Flemming, Adam Miller, S. D. Showaiter, Tom Flemming, J. T. Winson, James Mc Donald, Willard Sanders, Dale Harter, and Misses Nettie Harter, Grace Fadeley, surprised Mrs. A. D. Fadeley Tuesday evening by going in and spending the evening with her. They all took sugar with them and engaged in an old-fashioned taffy pulling.
Miss Pearl Bowers, of Middletown, spent Thursday night with her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Myers.

Mrs. Lute Flemming and little daughter returned from a few days visit with Hartford City friends.
Mrs. Mantrew Sanders spent Thursday with Mrs. C. H. Day, near Springport.
J. S. Edwards was in Anderson and Indianapolis Thursday.
Rev. B. R. Inman will begin his revival meeting at Daleville Monday night.
Dr. J. L. Englerth visited in New Castle Thursday evening.
The members and friends of the U. B. church gave a reception for their pastor, Rev. B. R. Inman, at the parsonage Thursday night while he was away from home. About seventy-five friends gathered there, and when he came home he was surprised but gladly welcomed all the visitors. The evening was spent in a delightfully social time.

Sulphur Springs, Ind., Dec. 3- Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Minnick, Mr. and Mrs. James Wright, Mr. and Mrs. Holcom Wright, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Young, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Downs, Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Mann, and Miss Hazel Maddy were entertained at dinner by Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Benbow, east of town, Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Allen entertained the following at dinner Sunday at their home south of town: Mr. and Mrs. John Crim, Mr. and Mrs. Arlie Crim, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Crim, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Crim, Mr. and Mrs. James Crim, Miss Montrue Munden and Howard Munden.

Mrs. John Downs and Mrs. J. L. Warner visited Mrs. Elizabeth Harter at New Castle Thursday.

C. J. Cummins, of Anderson, visited his father, Charles Cummins, at this place Monday.
Mrs. W. L. Scott and daughter India and Mrs. John Mellette returned home to Chicago Tuesday after the sickness and death of their mother, Mrs. Jacob Holsinger. Mr. Holsinger accompanied them there, where he will make his future home.
