Clipping hand dated 11/9/44 Fred Phelps, Age 58, Dies Fred C. Phelps, age 58, 914 S. 18th St., who operated an electrical refrigeration service in New Castle, died Wednesday night at 7:35 o'clock at the Henry County hospital where he had been since Oct. 23. Mr. Phelps was stricken with coronary thrombosis on Oct. 21. Mr. Phelps was a member of the K. of P. lodge and of the Masonic lodge. He was a birthright member of the Friends church and spent his entire life in New Castle. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Neva Phelps; 1 daughter, Miss Eleanor Phelps, and his father, Charles Phelps. His mother, Mrs. Cora H. Phelps, died a year ago. The body was removed to the Stanley mortuary where friends may call after 7 o'clock this evening. Funeral services will be held in the Stanley chapel on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Jesse Stanfield will officiate. Burial will be in South Mound cemetery.
