H.E. Poston, 64, Dies of Heart Attack

H. Earl Poston, 64, died unexpectedly of a heart attack Monday at 8 p.m. in his car as he was driving from the southern part of Rush County, where he had been selling insurance, to the home of his mother, Mrs. Sophronia Poston, at Gwynneville.

Mr. Poston, who resided with his wife, Olive H. Poston, at 1934 Grand Ave., had been spending the nights through the week with his mother, who is in ill health.

He was born in Gwynneville May 23, 1898, and had lived in New Castle 44 years. He was the son of Bert and Sophronia Addison Poston. He married Olive Hiatt in 1932.

Mr. Poston was associated with the All American Life and Casualty Insurance Company and was formerly employed by the Prudential Insurance Company and the Jesse French Piano Company.

He was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist of New Castle, and the American Legion.

He graduated from New Castle High School in 1917 and was president of his class. He attended Purdue University and was a veteran of World War I.

Survivors with the wife and the mother are one daughter, Mrs. Herschel Higham of New Castle, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in Frazier Funeral Home at Morristown with internment in Asbury Cemetery at Morristown. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Wednesday.
