Clipping hand dated 11/2/48 Edward S. Rains Edward S. Rains, 66, 1719 1/2 A Ave., died this morning at the Henry County hospital. He had been ill three months. Mr. Rains was born in Freetown, but had lived in New Castle for the past 25 years. He was employed at the Chrysler plant. Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Edwin Ritchey and Mrs. Robert Griffin of New Castle, and Mrs. Vincent Lambo of Elkhart; four sons, Charles of Indianapolis, Robert and Roger of New Castle and Halford of Freetown; one sister, Mrs. Frank Scott of Freetown; two brothers, Cleve of Illinois and Dave of Freetown; and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Main and Sons Funeral Home. Rev. Tom Acre of New Castle will officiate. Burial will be in Freetown. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. this evening.
