Earl E. Reichart, Among First Maxwell Employes, Dies at 66

Earl E. (Dutch) Reichart, 66, who helped build the original Maxwell-Briscoe Auto plant here and who continued as an employe of Maxwell and Chrysler for nearly half a century, died Wednesday at 11 p.m. in the Clinic.

Riechart, who lived at 739 N. Main St., had been seriously ill several months.

He retired frm Chrysler in 1953 after 47 years service.

He and his wife, Pearl, had celebrated their 45th wedding annniversary April 16 of this year. Surviving besides his wife, are a daughter, Mrs. David Ricks, New Castle; two sons, Marions E. Reichart, New Castle and Charles R. Reichart, Richmond; a sister, Mrs. Louise Rodgers, Indianapolis; a brother, Floyd, Dayton, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Kathy Ann, New Castle, and Chuck, Richmond.

Reichart was a member of the Friends Church, the Masonic Lodge and the Eagles. He started to work for Chrysler July 4, 1907, when he was 19 years old and for a number of years worked in the office. In 1934 he transferred to Dept. 84 where he was an inspector.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Macer Funeral Home with Rev. James T. Scherer in charge. Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday.
