Clipping hand dated Oct 28, 44 Fred M. Smethers Fred M. Smethers, age 26, died this morning at 5:30 o'clock at his home, 634 S. 14th St., after an extended illness. Before his illness, Mr. Smethers was employed at the Ingersoll Steel and Disc plant. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Phyllis Smethers; the parents, Mr. and Mrs. F.W. Smethers of New Castle, and 1 sister, Phyllis, at home. The body was removed to the Davis funeral home. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
