Ethett Smoot, 70, Dies After Heart Attack Downtown

Ethett H. Smoot, 70, 319 N. 17th St., died unexpectedly Tuesday afternon after suffering a heart attack. He was in the Court House Tuesday when he suffered the attack.

A retired employee of the Chrysler Corp., he was a veteran of World War I and attended the First Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Zula; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Dorothy Bronson of Connersville; a granddaughter, a sister, Mrs. Iveta Perry (NOTE: This is typed as written) and a brother, Russell Smoot, both of Bedford, and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Main and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. R.E. Pavy officiating. Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday.
