George T. Spears, Chrysler Worker, Dies Unexpectedly

George Thompson Spears, 62, died unexpectedly this morning at his home, 3503 S. Main St.

A native of Eubank, Ky., he had lived in Cincinnati before coming to New Castle 31 years ago. An employe of Dept 80, Chrysler Corp , he was a member of the First Friends Church, the American Legion, VFW, and Eagles Lodge, and was a veteran of World War I.

Survivors include his wife, Velma; one daughter, Mrs. Ormal (Jean) Ammerman of Mooreland; two granddaughters, Wyonda Sue and Linda Lou Ammerman; two step-grandchildren, Mrs. John Holliday of Muncie, and Ronald Ammerman of Norfolk, Va.; one sister, Mrs. Sarah Hines of Kokomo; one brother, Walter Spears of Eubank; several nieces and nephews. A son, Earl, was killed in World War II in Italy in 1944.

Funeral services for Mr. Spears will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Friends Church by Rev. John Harvey and Rev. Russell McGinnis. Burial will be in South Mound cemetery.

Friends may call at Main and Sons Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Thursday.
