C.I. Stotelmyer Dies of Burns

Had Been in Hospital More Than a Month

Burns suffered on Feb. 29 while smoking in bed proved fatal last night to Charles I. Stotelmyer, 33, residing at 917 S. 20th St. Mr. Stotelmyer, who suffered third degree burns, died Sunday night at 8:30 in the Henry County hospital.

Mr. Stotelmyer was a veteran of World War II, serving four and a half years, with 29 months in the South Pacific in the medical corps. He was employed at the Falck pharmacy on S. 18th St. Mr. Stotelmyer was a member of the First Methodist church, the Odd Fellows lodge and the American Legion post at Winchester.

Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Ruth Marian Stotelmyer; a son, Larry G., his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otha Stotelmyer, New Castle; four sisters, Mrs. Lucile Hall, New Castle; Mrs. Robert Dillon, Garrett, Ind.; and the Misses Janet and Dorothea L. Stotelmyer of this city; two brothers, Fred and George of Winchester; and an aunt, Mrs. George Stom of Mackinack City, Mich.

Friends may call at the Fox and Macer funeral home after 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Services will be conducted at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock with Rev. George Greer officiating. Burial will be in South Mound cemetery.
