Albert (Bert) Waln, 69, a long-time resident of New Castle and an employe of the Chrysler corporation for 32 years, residing at 2102 Plum St., died Sunday evening in the Henry County hospital following a brief illness. He also operated a blacksmith shop in New Castle. Mr. Waln was a member of the E.U.B. church and the Odd Fellows lodge.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. William McCormack, Mrs. Lowell McCorkle and Miss Adelia Waln, New Castle; four sons, Irvin, Estell, and Carl Waln, New Castle, and Russell Waln, Muncie; 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild; five sisters, Mrs. Tean Fields, Mrs. Lauvadah Merritt and Mrs. Adelia Wesley of Illinois, Mrs. Silver Day and Mrs. Arthia Day, Indianpolis and two brothers, Marvell and Donzello Waln, of Illinois.
Friends may call at the Main and Sons funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening. Services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the E.U.B. church with Rev. A.F. Byrne officiating. Burial will be in the Batson cemetery.
