Charles D. Winter, 76, died Sunday noon in Henry County Hospital after an illness of about one week. He resided at 1929 Broad St.
Mr. Winter was a foreman with Chrysler Corp., and at the time of his retirement in 1957 he was one of the factory's oldest employes in point of service. He was wit the plant since 1910 when it was Maxwell-Briscoe. A native of Bryan, Ohio, he moved here in 1908.
He was active in the Industiral Development Corp. and the Wabash Valley Association.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Glen (Iris) Huffman, Mrs. Vera Grabill and Mrs. Delores Nicholson, all of New Castle; three sons, Robert Winter of Indianapolis, Virgil Winter of Sulphur Springs and Darrell Winter of New Castle; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Carmen Brannan, Mrs. Mason Shook, Mrs. George Parhnam and Mrs. Berniece Beerbower, all of Bryan, Ohio; one brother, Bert Winter, of Bryan, Ohio; nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Main and Sons Funeral Home with burial to follow in South Mound Cemetery. Rev. Marion Hickman will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home any time.
