Clipping hand dated Sept 26 1956 Kate Withers, 60, Dies After Illness; Services Thursday Mrs. Kate Withers, 60, wife of Luther Withers, 1605 Grand Ave., died Monday afternon in the New Castle Clinic. Mrs. Withers had been ill for two weeks. Mrs. Withers was a member of the Baptist Church in Oakhill, Ky. She had resided in New Castle for the past 40 years. Surviving besides the husband are a son, Arnold Corder of Chicago; four daughters, Mrs. Robert Gruler, Mrs. Richard Erickson, Miss Gladys Withers and Miss Christine Withers, of New Castle; eight grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The body was taken to the Davis, Smith, Couden Funeral Home where friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 2 p.m. Thursday with Rev. C.A. Griffith officiating. Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery.
