ULYSSES S. GRANT SANDERS
The Life 'n Times of Ulysses S. Grant Sanders
My grandfather, who wrote the stories I am sending, was born and raised
for the most part in Henry Co. His family moved to Hodgeman Co. Kansas
when he was a teenager, as you will read in one of his stories. He then
moved here to Colorado, where he worked on the Denver & Rio Grande Rail
road. He eventually worked his way up to being a conductor on the route
between Durango and Silverton. He also became a State Senator, which I
think was quite an accomplishment for someone who had no more education
than he had. I think all of these stories were written around, and
certainly before, 1940. -- Glenn Sanders
