Virgie Brock Allman, 72, Brownstown, passed away at 8:59 a.m. Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour.
Mrs. Brock was a member of Easyville Church of Christ. She retired in 2003 from Silgan. She was a 1957 graduate of Medora High School and belonged to Eagles Lodge 655 of Seymour. She enjoyed NASCAR and loved cooking for her family, grandchildren and friends.
Born Dec. 27, 1938, in Bad Creek, Ky., she was the daughter of John and Susie Hoskins Brock, both of whom preceded her in death. On July 18, 1958, in Seymour, she married Thomas M. Allman, who preceded her in death Oct. 6, 2010.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas (Stacey) Allman, Brownstown, and Jerry (Shannon) Allman, Seymour; one daughter, Debbie (Tim) Lynch, Seymour; three brothers, Clyde Brock, Brownstown, Cecil (Gloria) Brock, Bedford, and Bige (Tonya) Brock, Panama City, Fla.; two sisters, Kathy Verba, Medora, and Goldie (Richard) Goens, Clearspring; eight grandchildren, Amberly (Brandon) Schroeder, Brittaney Lynch, Justin (Angela) Darlage, Brandon (Amanda) Allman, Paige Allman, Chandra Allman, Cody Bearden and Baleigh Allman; and three great-grandchildren, Cole Darlage, Kinsley Schroeder and Kamady Hunnicutt.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Walter Brock, Ingram "IG" Brock, Dempsey Brock and Johnny Brock, and one sister, Rosie Stuckwisch.
The Rev. Jean Pogue will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday at Spurgeon Funeral Home Inc., Brownstown. Burial will take place at Smallwood Cemetery, Brownstown.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
