Helen Kilburn Jewell Atkins, 89, of Seymour passed away at 7:47 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, 2010, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour.

Helen was born in Beattyville, Ky., on June 22, 1921, the daughter of William and Callie (Stewart) Kilburn.

On Nov. 20, 1948, she married William A. Atkins, who preceded her in death April 26, 2006.

Helen was a homemaker who also worked for the Seymour Telephone Co. for a few years. She was of the Baptist faith.

Helen is survived by her children, Doris (Berley) Goodin, Donald (Judy) Jewell, William (Juanita) Jewell, Judy Jewell; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Jean Oditt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; hus-band; and sisters, Thelma Lord, Mona Kilburn, Betty Charles; and brother, William Kilburn Jr.

Funeral services will be held at Voss Chapel in Seymour at 1 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Steve Gwaltney officiating.

Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour, with a Voss dove release.

Friends may call at Voss Chapel from 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday.
