Hilda J. (Eggersman) Auffenberg Obituary
Seymour TribuneHilda J. Auffenberg, 91, Seymour, passed away at 8:15 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2008, at Lutheran Community Home in Seymour.
Mrs. Auffenberg was employed at Reliance Shirt Factory, The Seymour Tribune and at Graessle-Mercer for 30 years as a typesetter.
She also worked at Franklin Printing in Franklin and owned and operated Xcel Printing for 8 years. She was a member of Lord of Life Lutheran Church, North Vernon, and also a member of the church's Ladies Guild. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Born August 1, 1917, in Jackson County, she was a lifelong resident here. She was the daughter of William E. and Anna E. Nuss Eggersman, both of whom preceded her in death. On Jan. 27, 1950, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour, she married Herbert William Auffenberg. He died Dec. 1, 1978.
Survivors include two sisters, Florence Bowman and Laura Reinhart, both of Seymour; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Howard "Bud" Eggersman; and a sister, Margaret Stockelman.
The Rev. Ralph Blomenberg will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel, Seymour. Burial will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
