Richard J. Aydt Obituary
Seymour Daily Tribune
Richard J. Aydt, 86, Seymour, died at
11:50 a.m. Thursday, April 25, 2002, at Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis.
Mr. Aydt served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was retired from management for Texas Eastern.
Born June 27, 1915, in Dahlgren, Ill., he was a son of George F. Aydt and Rena Frey Aydt, who both preceded him in death. In 1935 in McLeansboro, Ill., he married Lois Greer and she died June 18, 1993.
He is survived by two sons, Jerry A. Aydt, Oakland City, and Richard K. Aydt, Seymour; two daughters, Sandra Kell, Seymour, and Judith C. Ritz, Columbus; a sister, Mary Jane Garrett, Arizona; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded by a sister, Adeladie Holdener; and two brothers, Arthur Aydt and Howard Aydt.
The Rev. Bill Weaver will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Monday at Voss and Sons Funeral Service, Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour. Full military graveside rites will be conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled American Veterans 47 and Vietnam Veterans 7, all of Seymour.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday and from noon until time of services Monday at the funeral home.
