Norma Jean Boofer Babbs Obituary
Seymour Daily TribuneNorma Jean Boofer Babbs, 81, Brownstown, died at 11:35 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2007, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown.
Mrs. Babbs was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Wegan, and was a homemaker.
Born May 5, 1925, in Bedford, she was a daughter of Clyde B. and Anna M. Owen Boofer, both of whom preceded her in death. On August 30, 1945, in Brownstown, she married Lawrence T. Babbs, who died June 2, 1971.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Ann (David M.) Vanderpool, Freetown, and Sherry Lea (Allen) Hawn, Vallonia; five grandchildren, Jerry L. Martin, Franklin, Amy L. Temple, Seymour, Bradley K. Hawn, Brownstown, Joel Vanderpool, Glens Falls, N.Y., and Tim Vanderpool, Rochester, N.Y.; seven great-grandchildren, Ryan A. Hawn, Riley A. Hawn, Rebecca A. Hawn and Ridge A. Hawn, all of Brownstown, and Sophia Vanderpool, Olivia Vanderpool and Alexander Vanderpool, all of Glen Falls, N.Y.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Farrell L. Boofer; a sister, Gladys Marie Boofer; and a grandson, Bryan A. Hawn.
The Rev. Kenneth Keily will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Wegan. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Brownstown, and from noon until time of service Monday at the church.
