Cecilia Sue Basinger Obituary
Seymour Daily TribuneCecilia Sue “Susie” Basinger, 53, Heltonville, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at Bloomington Hospital, Bloomington. She had been ill for several years.
Mrs. Basinger was a 1966 graduate of Heltonville High School. She was employed at Morgan Packing Co. for several years. She earned her C.N.A. and worked at the Bedford Hospitality House and was later employed at Dunn Memorial Hospital. She was clerk for Pleasant Run Township for six terms. She was a member of Mundell Christian Church and the Leesville Chapter of the Eastern Star, holding the office of organist. She was past president and past secretary-treasurer of the Englewood PTO.
Born July 8, 1948, in Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Cecil A. Jones and Elsie G. Harrell Jones, who survives in Bedford. On June 26, 1971, she married Robert Allen “John” Basinger and he survives.
She also is survived by two daughters, Grace Ann (Scott) Clements and April Dawn Basinger, both of Heltonville; a granddaughter, Cheyan Grace Clements; four step-grandchildren, Natasha, Patrick, Zachary and Ashley Clements; a brother, Gerald Jones, Heltonville; two sisters, Cynthia Denniston, Norman, and Carolyn (Tony) Jarvis, Bedford; and two nephews, Todd Denniston, Norman, and Reid Denniston, Bedford.
She also was preceded by an infant brother.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mundell Christian Church, Heltonville.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Jones Funeral Home, Heltonville, and from 10 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the church.
