Paul E. Bassett Obituary
Seymour Daily TribunePaul E. Bassett, 70, Shelbyville, died at 10:40 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, at Hancock Memorial Hospital, Greenfield.
Mr. Bassett was a lifetime farmer, retiring in 1994. He was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church and the Shelby County ASCS Committee. He was retired as a Shelbyville Central school bus driver. He was a member of Bear Squares Square Dance Club.
Born June 24, 1931, in Shelby County, he was a son of William M. Bassett and Mildred Fox Bassett. On July 23, 1965, he married D. Jeanne Storer Bassett, who survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Bill Bassett and Steve Bassett, both of Shelbyville, and Mike Bassett, Morristown; a daughter, Denise Rogian, New Palestine; two stepsons, Billy Ratliff, Shelbyville, and Mike Ratliff, Waynesboro, Ga.; a brother, Norman Bassett, Seymour; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Lee Bassett.
The Rev. David Bryan will conduct services at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Glenn E. George and Son Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to Liberty United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
