Herbert William Beickman Obituary
Seymour Tribune - October 2008Herbert William Beickman, 93, Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown, passed away at 11:45 a.m. Sunday, October 26, 2008, at Hoosier Christian Village.
Mr. Beickman was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Brownstown. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking. He was a mill worker for Wayne Feed Store in Brownstown for 41 years.
Born February 22, 1915, in Brownstown, he was the son of William C. Beickman and Lizzie Schuerman Beickman, both of whom preceded him in death. On March 12, 1936, in Terre Haute, he married Anna Peters Beickman, who preceded him in death March 29, 1972. On August 25, 1973, he married Aletha Schuerman Blevins Beickman, who preceded him in death in July 2000.
Survivors include a daughter, Peggy (Norman) Babbs, Vallonia; a stepdaughter, Marjorie (Phillip) Nash, Brownstown; six grandchildren, Bruce Beickman, Jonathan Beickman, Lora Babbs, Matthew Babbs, Todd Nash and Emily Darlage; eight great-grandchildren, Joseph A. Beickman, Camden Babbs, Maggie Beickman, Andrew Beickman, Alyson Nash, Taylor Nash, Dave Darlage and Carson Darlage; a brother, Richard (Myrtle) Beickman, Jeffersonville; and a sister, Louise (Ray) Younger, Brownstown.
He was preceded in death by three sons, Larry Beickman, Alan Beickman and Joseph Beickman, and four brothers, Raymond, Elmer, Wilbert and Leanart Beickman.
Pastor Jack Belk will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Brownstown.
Burial will take place at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Brownstown.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Zabel Funeral Home, Brownstown, and from 10 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the church.
