Wilma Birge Obituary
Seymour Daily TribuneWilma Birge, 101, Seymour, died at 3:57 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, at her residence.
Mrs. Birge was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was the owner and bookkeeper at Birge Electric & Appliance Shop. She was formerly a member of the Elks Country Club and a Tri Kappa Emeritus Member.
Born February 27, 1905, in Iberia, Mo., she was a daughter of Wade A. and Edna Frances Wall Pemberton, both of whom preceded her in death. On May 26, 1926, she married Francis J. Birge, who also preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sisters, Janet Wilson and Jean Keeth, both of Missouri; a brother, Donald D. Pemberton, Missouri; five grandchildren, Sharon Henley, Bruce Birge, Brian Birge, Adrienne Caldwell and Christopher Birge; eight great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; a daughter-in-law, Louise Birge; and many friends and extended family.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry P. Birge and Richard Paul Birge; five brothers, Victor Pemberton, Emil Pemberton, Lynn Pemberton, James Pemberton and Harold Pemberton; and four sisters, Gretchen Jones, Sylvia Atwell, Pauline Livingston and Maxine Deardeuff.
Dr. Eugene Gladney will conduct funeral services at 4 p.m. Monday at Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will take place in the Williams Cemetery in Missouri at a later date.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. to time of service Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the donor's choice.
