Cora Louise Black, 80, Seymour, passed away at 3:25 a.m., Saturday, January 15, 2011, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church but attended Easyville Church of Christ. She was a homemaker.
Born January 17, 1930, in Washington County, she was the daughter of Chester Arthur and Mary Magneline Crawhorn Smith, both of whom preceded her in death. On March 1, 1947, in Columbus, she married Ulysses Grant Black, who preceded her in death February 16, 2008.
Cora is survived by daughters, Wanda P. (Don) Meadors, M. Cathy (Roger) Schleibaum and Jeannie L. (Cooter) Coffey; sons, Ulysses "Butch" A. (Mona) Black Sr., Ernest "Ernie" W. (Deanna) Black and Thomas "Tom" A. (Kathy) Black Sr.; sisters, Marzella Doody, Sharon DeMoss, Patty Watkins and Annie McIntosh; brother, Ronald Dean Smith; 27 grandchildren; and 44 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers; one sister; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Marie Black; granddaughter, Tammy Jo Black; and one great- great-granddaughter.
Pastor Jean Pogue will conduct the funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Seymour.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and from 10 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
