Francis O. Bode Obituary
Seymour Tribune
Francis O. Bode, 74, of Seyour died at 3:55 p.m. Monday, February 10, 1997, at Memorial Hospital in Seymour.
Mr. Bode was a retired farmer and member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving in World War II, and life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, Seymour.
Born on June 9, 1922, he was a son of Edward and Mamye Kulhman Bode. On August 4, 1946, he married Ruth I. Baute. She died on March 2, 1982. On March 12, 1983, he married Clara Brooks, who died on April 28, 1995.
Survivors include two sons, Charles E. Bode and Donald "Pete" A. Bode, both of Seymour, a daughter, Mrs. Curtis "Bill" (Beverly) Gudgel, Seymour; two brothers, Chester Bode, Columbus, and Carl Bode, Seyour; two sisters Mrs. Richard (Edna) Peters, Columbus, and Mrs. George (Mildred) Bobb, Seymour; and five grandchildren, two stepgranddaughters and a stepgrandson.
He was preceded in death by three brother, Bob, Earl and Ralph; two brothers who died in infancy; two sisters, Cora Heideman and Irene Koop; and a grandson.
The Rev. Ralph Blomenberg and the Rev. Phillip Bloch will conduct services at 11 a.m. Thursday at Myers Funeral Service, Burkholder Chapel, Seymour, with burial to take place at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
