Helen L. Brock Obituary
Seymour Indiana TribuneHelen L. Brock, 93, died Monday, September 6, 2004, at Schneck Medical Center.
Mrs. Brock was a member of Central Christian Church. She was a former Past Worthy Matron for Eastern Star, where she was a member more than 50 years. She attended Brownstown High School and graduated from Indiana Business College in 1928. She was a former employee of Excel Shirt Factory for 47 years and an executive secretary at Jackson County Mental Health Association for 15 years. She was a member of BPW, a board member of Jackson County Mental Health Association and LoVision Group. She had previously been the Guest of Honor at Indiana Business College as its oldest living graduate and for her years of service with Jackson County Mental Health Association. She enjoyed cooking, baking cookies, working with flowers and spending time with her grandchildren.
Born November 6, 1910, at Shieldstown, she was a daughter of James Robertson Persinger and Inez B. Reynolds Persinger, who preceded her in death. She married Sanford T. Brock on Jan. 22, 1930, in Jeffersonville and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by a daughter, Blanche Meek; three grandchildren, Ronald L. Meek, Daniel R. (Sharon) Meek and Rose M. Williams; five great-grandchildren, Ronald L. Meek, Kathryn Meek, Kevin Hackman, Jordan Meek, and LaQuesha Williams; and six great-great-grandchildren, Kristofer Meek, Zachary Thompson, Sydney Meek, Lacey Meek, Jeremiah Hackman and Jalen Meek.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Rodney Persinger.
The Rev. Sam Davenport will conduct funeral services at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Voss Chapel and an Eastern Star Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. with burial at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown.
Friends may call at Voss and Sons Funeral Service on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour before the service Thursday.
