Hazle Arthur Brooks Obituary

Hazle Arthur “Art” “Brooksie” Brooks, 82, Seymour, died Friday, April 5, 2002, at his home.
Mr. Brooks was a postal worker. He served in the Marines during World War II and was a life member of VFW and the American Legion, both of Seymour. He attended Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour and lived most of his life in Jackson County.
Born April 28, 1919, in Seymour, he was a son of Edward Brooks and Florence Ballard Brooks, who both preceded him in death. He married Mary Fern Foster and she preceded him in death. He then married Emma Jane Bush and she died in 1979. He then married Mary Jane Roe and she died in 1981.
He is survived by Zella Bohnenkamp; four sons, Roger Brooks, Frank Brooks, Hagerstown, and William Brooks and David Brooks, both of Seymour; two daughters, Marylyn Ward, Seymour, and JoAnna Lee Aynes, Tennessee; 11 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He also was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence (Nip) Brooks.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Voss and Sons Funeral service, Voss chapel, Seymour. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour.
Full military graveside rites will be conducted by the VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled American Veterans 47 and Vietnam Veterans 7, all of Seymour.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and from noon until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice.
