Dulcena B. Brown, 72, Seymour, passed away at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour.
Dulcena was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. She retired from the U.S. Shoe Corp. in Cincinnati after eight years
of service in order to take care of her disabled husband. She also worked as a home health care nurse for Memorial Hospital
for quite some time.
Born March 24, 1937, in Breathitt County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Boyd and Dicie Murrell Herald, both of whom preceded
her in death. On September 4, 1953, she married Wilbur O. Brown in Aurora, and he preceded her in death January 6, 1984.
Survivors include her daughters, Shirlan (Dennis) Carter and Yvonne (Joseph) Haas; grandchildren, Christy (Marc) Crane,
Denise (Corey) Strong, Bradley (Jessica) Carter, Brian (Theresa) Jerrell, Tiffani Jerrell and Stephanie Jerrell; great-grandchildren,
Madison Hunnicutt, Ethan Crane and Kayli and Claire Carter; sisters, Martha Rice and Rachel Gay; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and one nephew.
The Rev. Mark Wooten will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will take place at
Riverview Cemetery, Seymour.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.
