Melvin L. Caffee Obituary
Tribune - March 11, 2010Melvin L. Caffee, 80, Brownstown, passed away at 8:04 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour.
Mr. Caffee was of the Baptist faith. He had retired from Stadler's Meat Packing in Columbus and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed coon hunting, fishing, camping and horses.
Born October 3, 1929, in Edmonton, Kentucky, he was the son of Omer and Mattie Brown Caffee. On October 29, 1971, in Columbus, he married Peggy Lee, who survives.
Other survivors include six children, Jeffrey Caffee, Melvin Wayne (Heidi Ream) Caffee, Bryan (Andrea) Caffee, Alice Caffee, Penny (Roger) Roll and Melinda (Sam) Wagner; one brother, Chester Caffee; three sisters, Shirly Wilson, Lora Gearlads and Edna Layton; 13 grandchildren, Jr. Caffee, Chris Caffee, Cristol (Justin) Wright, Jeffrey "Clayton" Caffee, Daniel Roll, Kayla Caffee, Britney Caffee, Melvin Anderson, Nakota Caffee, Kyliegh Caffee, Jamie Caffee, Melody Ream and Alexandrea Caffee; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Penny Loraine Caffee; two sons, Robert Caffee and Clifford Caffee; two brothers, Ben Caffee and Billy Caffee; and one sister, Nellie Dickson.
Van Breeding will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday at Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home, Brownstown. Burial will take place at Kurtz Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
