Helen Carpenter Obituary
Seymour Tribune - November 2008Helen Carpenter, 81, Brownstown, passed away at 12:27 p.m. Saturday, November 1, 2008, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown.
Mrs. Carpenter was a member of Surprise Methodist Church and was a housewife.
Born November 23, 1926, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of Evan and Ora Grider Fields, both of whom preceded her in death. In 1942 she married Gilbert Lee Carpenter, who preceded her in death in 1993.
Survivors include three sons, Leon (Inez) Carpenter, Orlanda, Florida, Gilbert Ray (Sharon) Carpenter, and Dennis M. (Deborah) Carpenter, both of Freetown, one daughter, Sharon Riggs, Martinsville; two brothers, Jack Fields, Paris Crossing, and Delbert Fields, Norman; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Ruby Downing, and two brothers, Frank Fields and Ervin Fields.
The family has chosen no public visitation and a private funeral services will be conducted at a later date.
Burial will take place at Acme Cemetery.
