Naomi R. Carpenter, 78, of Salem and formerly of Campbellsville, Kentucky, died Friday, March 29, 2002, at Washington County Memorial Hospital in Salem.
Mrs. Carpenter was a retired manufacturing inspector at Union Underwear Co. (formerly Fruit of the Loom) in Campbellsville, Kentucky, and was a member of the New Liberty Baptist Church in Henryville. She resided in Salem for the past 10 years.
She was the daughter of Orville Berry and Mary Campbell, who both preceded her in death. She married Leroy C. Carpenter and he survives.
She is also survived by three sons, Paul J. Dicken, Campbellsville, Kentucky, Jim Carpenter, Stanton, Kentucky, and Cliff Carpenter, Scottsburg; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home, Campbellsville, Kentucky. Burial will be at Christie Creek Cemetery, Casey Creek, Kentucky.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Collins Funeral Home, Scottsburg, and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home, Campbellsville, Kentucky.
