Marian Jean Carr Obituary
Tribune- January 16, 2011Marian Jean Carr, 76, Vallonia, passed away at 7 a.m. Sunday, January 16, 2011, at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.
She was a member of Brownstown Christian Church. She was a homemaker and previously worked with real estate. Jean was an avid nature lover and enjoyed feeding birds, growing flowers and being in the outdoors. Jean and husband, Paul, traveled all over the world, enjoying the many places visited.
She was born October 7, 1934, in Medora to Marion Alonzo Greathouse and Myrtle Williams. In 1954, she married William F. Wheelden, who preceded her in death in 1967. In 1969, she married Paul Carr, who survives in Vallonia.
Jean is survived by two sons, Jeffrey L. (Kandy) Wheelden, Vergus, Minnisota, and Gregory A. (Peggy) Wheelden, Fargo, N.D.; one daughter, Rita (Larry) Phares, Jacksonville, Fla.; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Greathouse, Columbus; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, William; brother, Glenn Greathouse; and two sisters, Hazel Cockerham and Helen Hallett.
Michael Hogg will officiate a funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Brownstown Christian Church.
Interment will be at Zollman Cemetery, Medora.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church and from 10 a.m. until the service on Wednesday.
Memorials may be given to Brownstown Christian Church or donor's choice.
