Stella Marie Carter Obituary
Seymour Daily TribuneStella Marie Carter, 75, Scottsburg, died Tuesday, April 30, 2002, at Scott Villa Living Center, Scottsburg.
Mrs. Carter was a homemaker and an avid gardener. She was a member of the Free Gospel Church, Underwood, and had resided in Scottsburg for 14 years.
Born August 3, 1926, in Tuscumbia, Alabama, she was a daughter of Lucion Holland and Jennie Goins, who both preceded her in death.
She is survived by a son, Alvin (Rick) Carter, Scottsburg; a daughter, Martina “Tina” Temple, Owensboro, Kentucky; two brothers, Ted Holland and Wilson Holland, both of Tuscumbia, Alabama; two sisters, Jean Roye, Decatur, Alabama, and Sue Scott, Florida; a granddaughter, Carmen Carter, Scottsburg, and five other grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The Rev. G.D. Estes will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday at Collins Funeral Home, Scottsburg. Burial will be at Scottsburg Cemetery, Scottsburg.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the funeral home.
