Billy Cheek, 78, Seymour, passed away at 12:37 p.m. Tuesday, December 21, 2010, at his residence.
Mr. Cheek was a member of Seymour Christian Church. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Born July 26, 1932, in Brown County, he was the son of Henry and Minnie Taylor Cheek, both of whom preceded him in death. On October 5, 1973, he married Violet Wyant, who also preceded him in death.
Survivors include daughters, Valerie Phippen and Billie Morris; son, Tim Cheek; stepsons, Robby Ayers, Jeff Ayers and Roger Ayers; stepdaughters, Laura Sutton and Rhonda Wilson; one sister, Dora Mae Goforth; 20 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Kathleen Cornett, and one son, Daniel Cheek.
Roy Hendershot will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Thursday at Houston Christian Church. Burial will take place at Houston Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to expenses.
Arrangements are being handled by Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home, Brownstown.
