Irene Christopher Obituary
Seymour Daily TribuneIrene Christopher, 86, Dudleytown, died at 1:29 p.m. Sunday, August 27, 2006, at Lutheran Community Home, Seymour.
Mrs. Christopher was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Dudleytown, and a sales clerk for Union Hardware for many years.
She was a volunteer at Lutheran Community Home and a member of the Hospital Guild. She graduated from Crothersville High School, where she was an honor student and sang in the school choir and played in school orchestra.
Born May 27, 1920, in Crothersville, she was a daughter of Effice and Goldie Young Stout, both of whom preceded her in death. On March 8, 1940, at Bethel Lutheran Church, Austin, she married Everett Christopher. He died June 27, 2003.
Survivors include two children, Jerry (Marilyn) Christopher, Seymour, and Judy (Larry) Findley, Columbus; four grandchildren, Scott (Jill) Christopher, Seymour, Julie (Chris) Campbell and Micah (Steve) Magill, both of Greenwood, and Tracey (Matt) Schafstall, Cortland; six great-grandchildren, Christopher and Logan Campbell, Max and Mason Schafstall and Ella and Evan Christopher; a brother, Roy Lee Stout, Crothersville; and three sisters, Juanita (Harold) Duncan, Tampico, and Edna Cozart and Pauline (Jack) Isaacs, both of Crothersville.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Stout.
The Rev. Scott Kozisek, the Rev. Fred Mildenberger and the Rev. Darrell Geitz will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Dudleytown.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Voss Chapel and from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the church. Burial will take place at Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Lutheran High School or Schneck Medical Center Hospice.
