The Rev. Cora Ruth Clem, 69, Seymour, was called away from this world to be with the Lord at 4:07 p.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2011, in Seymour.

The Rev. Clem was the pastor of White River Chapel Church. She retired from Walmart Supercenter in Seymour. Pastor Clem had a great love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and would share his love with others no matter where or what the need. She had so many friends and enjoyed fishing and spending time with her great-grandson, Jace.

Born May 19, 1942, in Breathitt County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Bessie Louise Caudill and Granville Johnson, both of whom preceded her in death. On June 17, 1961, she married Richard Gene Clem, who survives in Seymour.

Other survivors include daughters, Janet Marie (Mike) Monroe and Kathy (Larry) Boling; grandchildren, Rachel Leah Hodge and Michael Henry Monroe; great-grandsons, James Hodge and Jace Richard Granville Clem; brother, Virgil Johnson; sisters, Virginia Donahue, Alice Bline and Maxine Banks; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Bessie Jean "B.J." Clem; granddaughter, Jessica Coraruth Clem; and brother, David Joel Johnson.

The Rev. Jess M. Bline and the Rev. Fred Harrison will conduct a life celebration service at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 12:30 p.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
