Audrey V. Speck Colvin Obituary
Seymour Daily TribuneAudrey V. Speck Colvin, 75, Seymour, died at 10:21 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2002, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and had been a seamstress for more than 20 years. She had worked for the J.C. Penney Store in Seymour for five years. She was a member of Daughters of Isabella, American Legion Auxiliary, Jackson County Hospital Guild, Seymour Elks Auxiliary and Seymour Women’s Bowling Association.
Born April 5, 1926, in Dayton, Kentucky, she was a daughter of Leo Speck and Mary Leflett Speck. On January 17, 1948, at St. Joseph’s Church, Four Corners, she married Ralph G. Colvin, who died September 16, 1998.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Roger (Dorothy) Day, Mrs. Gary (Mary Louise) Voss, Mrs. Mark (Jane) Nowling, Mrs. Robert (Theresa) Schwartz and Barbara Marling, all of Seymour; three sons, Anthony “Tony” Colvin and Timothy “Tim” (Marsha) Colvin, both of Seymour, and Thomas (Karen) Colvin, Sheridan; 20 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Floyd Speck, Delmar Speck and Wilfred Speck, and an infant sister, Helen Rose Speck.
The Rev. John Hall will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Seymour. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Voss and Sons Funeral Service, Voss Chapel, Seymour, and from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday at the church. A rosary service will be conducted at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to St. Ambrose Catholic Church or School.
