Talton Combs Obituary
April 12, 1916 - February 22, 2009
Mr. Talton Combs, 92, of Seymour, passed away at 2:18 AM, Sunday, February 22nd, 2009 at his residence.
Talton was born in, Hazard, Kentucky on April 12, 1916, the son of the late Thomas Henry and Josephine Elizabeth (Napier) Combs.
He married Cleda Mae (Colwell) Combs on January 3, 1994 in Tennessee. He served in the U.S. Army in WW II. Talton was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Crothersville and had been a logger for a saw mill, in which he owned, making coal timber.
Talton is survived by his wife,daughters, Stephanie (Glen) Wheeler, Glenda Fae (Ken) Hodges, Anna Lett and Vivian (Bill) Hatfield, sons Archie (Johnnie) Combs, J.R. (Lillian) Combs, Howard (Birdinia) Oakley and Timothy (Violet) Oakley , 19 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: Parents, first and second wife, 3-sisters, 3-brothers and a step son: Saul David Oakley.
Funeral Service at Voss Chapel at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25th, with Rev. Jerry Begley officiating.
Friends may call at Voss Chapel on Tuesday 4-8 p.m. and on Wednesday after 12 noon until time of service at Voss Chapel.
Burial will follow at Crothersville Cemetery with a Voss dove release.
